The agreement between Arsenal and Real Madrid for the transfer of Martin Odegaard could now be ‘imminent’, according to claims from Spain.
AS tonight writes that the clubs are now close to a deal for the midfielder, who has ‘every chance’ of joining the Gunners once again this summer.
It’s said the clubs are in ‘very advanced negotiations’, with ‘all parties willing for it to succeed’, and that has helped to accelerate the process.
The website claims that Odegaard hasn’t even been training with the rest of the squad today. That’s because ‘any problem’ could harm the deal and the club chose to let him train on his own.
AS just doesn’t bring many details on how much the transfer will cost Arsenal. They say that Odegaard became a ‘key player’ under Mikel Arteta during his six-month loan spell last season, so the Gunners ‘stayed attentive to his steps’ during the summer, and finally found an opportunity to sign him.
Recent reports from Spain said the London side would offer €30m for the midfielder, while Real Madrid opened negotiations demanding €50m. So the assumption would be the two parties are close to reaching a compromise, with the possibility of the move initially being a loan.
