You know a player must be enjoying himself when he’s celebrating like Lionel Messi. Well Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss must be delighted.
BILD Nuremberg cover him and his latest Mess-like celebration as his loan deal at Stuttgart continues to go from strength to strength.
He was in fine form again this week and showed there’s more to his game than first thought. That’s because he managed to score with his head in a 2-0 win over Feyenoord.
His header put Stuttgart on the road to victory in that game and continued a strong start to life in Germany since joining from Leicester City in the summer. A Messi impersonation then followed. The midfielder took off his shirt and presented his number 11 to the fans.
That was seen as him ‘showing everyone’ who he is. ‘Look, I’m number 11!’. He admitted after the game he had simply wanted to enjoy a big moment for him, and Stuttgart.
The praise for his performance was not slow in coming either. Deniz Undav raved about the midfielder while coach Sebastian Hoeneß labelled him a ‘man for special moments’. That’s been the case since he arrived from Leicester City in the summer.
The loan deal has worked out perfectly so far and now, an €18m option to buy is looking like a ‘good investment’ by everyone. That opinion will only grow if he continues to have Messi-like moments as he did this week.
