Sepp van den Berg has been linked with multiple clubs this summer, mainly in the Eredivisie and Bundesliga, but Liverpool’s valuation has seen most walk away and move to other options.
PSV are still keen and their local newspaper, ED, reports they’re willing to pay €10m in an initial fee plus a further ‘several million’ in potential bonus payments.
However, it’s stated that still isn’t enough for Liverpool, who are asking for €20m.
Arne Slot is factored in as another issue. According to ED, the Dutch manager is ‘charmed’ by 22-year-old Van de Berg and becoming rather fond of him. Therefore, he’s in no rush to simply let him leave.
PSV are the most serious team in the race and may reach €15m eventually, with Hoffenheim, who had also been keen, not wanting to play ball at those figures.
Slot being a growing fan is the really interesting aspect here and he may well not be so keen on getting rid at all, or encourage Liverpool to secure a buyback clause.
