As claims from the Argentine press continue to say Brighton & Hove Albion are close to signing Alexis Mac Allister from Argentinos Juniors, more possibilities about the player’s short term future show up.
On Tuesday, we covered a story saying that as Brighton have filled all their spots for non-EU players, they would loan him somewhere else. And that would be a Championship side.
We pointed out that if Mac Allister doesn’t have an EU passport, then it would be unlikely for him to get a work permit to play in England.
They say the player could end up being loaned to Boca Juniors for six months, and the Buenos Aires side would be happy to take him.
TyC confirms that Mac Allister couldn’t sort an EU passport out, claiming that there’s been an ‘unforeseen’ development and now he could spend half of the year in Argentina.
The outlets keep saying that Brighton are expected to pay US$10m for the player.
