According to Fanatik, Besiktas have made an approach to Southampton with regards to signing Mohamed Elyounoussi on a permanent deal.
The Super Lig side have been linked with the Norway international in recent weeks.
However, it’s reported Besiktas have been put off signing the player as Southampton want €9m for the 24 year old. The attacker joined the Premier League club from Basel for €18m last summer.
Subsequently, Fanatik say Besiktas will no longer be looking to sign him permanently but the Turkish club are working hard to get a loan agreement with the Saints.
After the arrival of Moussa Djenepo, Elyounoussi’s chances of playing regularly look slim and the player could look to find a new club to get games.
With the Turkish window only closing at the end of the month, Besiktas still have time to land the winger.
Last season the former Basel player made 18 appearances for Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side and he’s under contract at St Mary’s until June 2022.
