Juventus are waiting for Manchester City to make their move for Andrea Cambiaso to unlock the transfer funds for themselves to invest back into the squad.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it who say Juventus are likely to be busy in the final days of the January transfer window if Manchester City make their move for Cambiaso.
The website relays information from journalist Eleonora Trotta, who provides the latest on the move for the left-back.
Manchester City have been linked with his signature for the past few weeks as they spend big this month to strengthen Pep Guardiola’s squad.
The Juventus player is the number one target after the deals for Omar Marmoush, Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov were completed last week.
Juventus were believed to be holding out for €80m minimum for the defender, who they do not want to sell halfway through a season but will let go for a big fee. The plan is to reinvest those funds in the remainder of the transfer window.
It seems they are now waiting for Manchester City to make their bid, who reports that there could be movement on the matter later this week.
“Manchester City has carried out a small revolution, now that these first grafts are over, they must make it clear whether they will really make an offer for Cambiaso,” reports Trotta.
“It could be close to €60m. Initially Juve asked for €70m but selling him for €55m would be an excellent capital gain. And there is a need for the Bianconeri to raise money.
“There could be news between Thursday and Friday. We must remain vigilant, from this sale there could be more important movements for Juve.
“Giuntoli wants another defender, then Fagioli is also on the market. It is unlikely that he will be sold with an obligation to redeem, it is likely that it will arrive at a conditional right or obligation.”
