Anthony Martial spent nine years at Manchester United before leaving Old Trafford at the end of last season.
The forward has been without a club since his deal at Manchester United expired on June 30th. He continues to search for a new home and Flamengo emerged as an option for the 28-year-old.
Monday’s edition of Meia Hora brings the latest on the chances of the Frenchman joining Flamengo.
The transfer window in Brazil closed last Monday, but Flamengo can sign Martial as he’s a free agent.
Last week, Flamengo’s Pedro suffered a serious knee injury while training with the Brazil national team. He’s set for a long spell on the sidelines, and this could force his side to look for a replacement.
The former Manchester United man has been identified as a target. However, the newspaper says he demanded a three-year deal on his wages to join the South American club.
Flamengo believe that both the salary request and the contract length isn’t workable for them, and therefore it’s believed there’s no possibility of negotiations going any further.
