Benfica midfielder João Teixeira is set to be announced as a new signing by Wolverhampton this week.
The 22-year-old, who had just returned from a loan at Vitória Guimarães, reportedly flew to England on Sunday and should be having this medical on Monday.
According to Monday’s edition of O Jogo, Teixeira is expected to stay at Wolves on a season-long loan. The newspaper doesn’t mention if the English side will have a buying option or not.
Wolverhampton have already officialy signed the Benfica winger Hélder Costa and the Atletico Madrid right-back Sílvio, who spent the last season at the Portuguese club on loan.
Other Benfica players such as Anderson Talisca and Pelé have been linked to Wolves as well. Ivan Cavaleiro, who left the Portuguese side for Monaco last season, is another one who could end up at Molineux.
All these transfers have something related with Jorge Mendes, although his name isn’t always mentioned in the articles from the Portuguese press. His partnership with the Fosun Group could really help Wolves this season, but only if the signings can settle and help the club.
