Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus can rule out Flamengo as a potential option if he’s planning on a return to Brazil.
That’s according to journalist Yago Martins, relayed by Bolavip, who say the Brazilian is not an option for Flamengo at this moment in time.
Jesus has found himself down the pecking order at Arsenal this season with the arrival of Viktor Gyökeres and several other attacking options pushing him further down as he works to return from injury.
He has long been linked with a return to his home country, although several reports have made it clear that he would prefer to remain in Europe for the time being. That was stated when Palmeiras were believed to be considering a move for the Club World Cup.
The latest to be linked are Flamengo, but according to Martins, who works for the Mundo Bola Flamengo outlet, the Arsenal striker is not in their sights. This information has reportedly come from their board.
The belief at the club is that their current attacking options are strong enough and they don’t need to bring in major reinforcements. They are prioritising reinforcements in other areas instead.
Thus, any links to the Arsenal man can be dismissed for the time being, although we’re sure that won’t stop the rumours in Brazil.
