Newcastle United are considering a move to sign Olympiacos’ Santiago Hezze this summer, according to multiple claims.
The Greek club signed the 22-year-old from Club Atlético Huracán in August 2023, and he made 50 appearances last season.
TyC Sports journalist Gastón Edul took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to claim Newcastle have included Hezze in their target list.
The Magpies can make an offer for the defensive midfielder before the window closes next week. Edul makes no mention of the fee the Premier League side could propose.
Sportime in Greece have relayed Edul’s claim and then backed up Newcastle’s interest in the Argentina U23 international.
Hezze represented his country at the Olympics, and made three appearances in France. It’s claimed he’s high on the Premier League side’s target list.
Sportime say Eddie Howe’s side are likely to offer over €20m for the South American and this ‘amount is not negligible’. If they were to table this bid, Olympiacos ‘will sit down’ for negotiations with Newcastle.
Journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos covered this report. He took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to claim Newcastle are ‘about to offer more than’ €20m for Hezze.
