Illan Meslier is again linked with a move to Barcelona, in what would be a surprise transfer for the 22-year-old Leeds United goalkeeper.

Wednesday’s edition of Mundo Deportivo reports the Catalan club are looking for someone who can provide competition to Marc-André ter Stegen, and be a support player for the German.

According to the newspaper, ‘the casting is done’, which means the list of possible signings has already been drawn up and it will be a case of moving to sign one of them.

Meslier is ‘among the chosen’, yet there’s not even a guess over how much the Leeds United player would cost.

Should the club stay in the Premier League then they would likely ask for a relatively high figure for the Frenchman, and he may feel being a starter at Leeds, in England’s top flight, is better than sitting on the bench, even at Barcelona.

Despite Ter Stegen not having the best season of his career, Mundo still insist Barca believe he’s one of the best goalkeepers in the world, and that shows what Meslier, or anyone else, would be up against.
