Earlier on Thursday we covered some comments from Milan Škriniar about reported Manchester United interest.
Asked by the Slovakian FA about claims of an offer from the Premier League being turned down, Škriniar said: “I’m happy about the interest in me, but Inter decided how they decided, so I cannot say anything more about it. However, I am satisfied at Inter.”
That was very much sitting on the fence, but it seems like the Manchester United situation could be getting the defender a pay rise at Inter.
Italy’s TMW report that Škriniar’s entourage have today arrived at Inter’s Corso Vittorio Emanuele headquarters. A contract renewal until 2023 is now thought to be ‘around the corner’.
Inter are said to be proposing a new deal which would see the 23 year old earn €2.5m a season (a figure likely to be after tax) including bonuses per season.
It’s not good news for Manchester United interest, but given the asking price was said to be €80m anyway, a new contract probably won’t change things a great deal.
