While bolstering the squad is the focus for Everton this summer, there are also likely to be several departures.
Marcel Brands is continuing his efforts to trim down the squad and mould it into one that better suits his and Marco Silva’s vision for the club.
One player who has been linked with a move away is Yerry Mina. The Colombian arrived at Goodison Park last summer in a €30m deal from Barcelona.
His first season in England proved to be a frustrating one, though, with him managing just 15 appearances as injury problems plagued him for the entire campaign.
It’s that which has led to suggestions he could be on the move this summer and his uncle Jair Mina, who is also his representative, has responded to those rumours.
“We do not know anything about that,” he told Gol Caracol.
“The only thing is that Yerry has a contract with Everton, it’s five years, and he has only completed the first seven months of the same contract.”
In truth, it would make very little sense for Everton to sell Mina this summer even if there was interest in him.
For a start, the Toffees only have him and Michael Keane at the club at present, given Kurt Zouma has returned to Chelsea following his loan spell.
Add in the fact they worked extremely hard to sign him last summer, and are unlikely to get the money they spent back should they sell, and a move for him is firmly on the questionable end of the scale.
