With two goals and two assists in his first six games in the Premier League this season, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Leandro Trossard has shown why he’s so important to the Seagulls.
Roberto De Zerbi’s new side currently sit fourth in the Premier League thanks to the good work put in by now Chelsea manager Graham Potter, and the Italian will be wanting to ensure the form continues.
Trossard should be central to his plans, as the Belgium international has shown time and time again how decisive he can be for Brighton, but how long he will remain there is a question many are asking themselves.
In fact, this was something Eleven Sports put to him over the past few days, outright wondering if he was thinking about moving to a bigger club in the near future, much like Marc Cucurella did in the summer when Chelsea came knocking.
He replied, relayed by Voetbal Nieuws: “Gosh, you always work towards that. I feel good at Brighton and we are fourth. I will only leave for another club if it is the right team.”
As things stand, the 27-year-old will be free to talk to clubs as early as January regarding a free transfer since his contract with Brighton expires next summer.
That is something the Seagulls will want to avoid, meaning an extension could be around the corner, even if it is just to ensure they get a profit on their original £14m expenditure.
