It was in the summer of 2019 that Manchester City agreed to loan Yangel Herrera to Spanish side Granada on a two-year deal.

The midfielder has managed to make 76 appearances for the La Liga club in that time, becoming a regular starter and important player for the team, which has led many to be curious about what will happen to him at the end of the season.

Herrera recently spoke to the Venezuelan media on a live chat with El Estímulo, and today, it’s Spanish outlet Ideal who brings some of the best quotes from that conversation.

Regarding the relationship with Manchester City, the midfielder said: “They are always watching me, every game”.

However, he claims he still doesn’t know where he’ll be playing in the next season.

“I focus on the day to day. It’s what has led me to where I am and that teams like that take me into account. Now I don’t think about whether I’m going there or not. I try to do well in Granada and in the future we will see if I can be there.”

On the chances of playing for a top European side, Herrera said: “I work for that. I think it’s my goal. My dream was to play for the national team and reach an elite club in Europe. I try to evolve and grow. I can be very close to achieving it”.

Manchester City fans should have a good chance to see Herrera in action tomorrow night, as Granada face Manchester United for the second leg of Europa League’s quarter-finals in the return leg after the Old Trafford side won the first match 2-0.
