Sunderland’s Brian Brobbey is happy about the recent claims of Bayern Munich interest.
This initially originated in the UK press and the German media have responded to it with Bayern Munich’s stance.
Last week, Sport Witness covered claims from Germany that Bayern Munich are unlikely to sign the Sunderland player.
The overall cost of the deal would turn out to be expensive for the Bundesliga winners.

However, that hasn’t stopped Viaplay from asking the Netherlands international about the claims of interest from the Bavarian club, and Ajax Show Time have relayed his comments.
Although interest pleases him, the 24-year-old insists he’s not aware of anything specific with Bayern Munich.
“It is always nice when such a big club shows interest, but I haven’t heard anything myself. So, I don’t know,” he said.
Brian Brobbey is a product of Ajax’s academy and left them as a free agent to join RB Leipzig in 2021. He returned to the Eredivisie side in January 2022 and left them to join Sunderland last summer.
When asked whether he’s open to returning to Germany again, Brobbey explained: “I don’t know. I’m not thinking about that right now.”
How Black Cats move helped him
At the Stadium of Light, Brian Brobbey initially had to settle for a substitute’s role before starting to feature regularly. He manager seven goals and an assist so far for Sunderland.
His Premier League stats are as follows:
- Appearances: 26
- Starts: 17
- Total minutes: 1,554
- Minutes per game: 60
- Goals: 6
- Assists: 1
Last month, Oranje manager Ronald Koeman credited Régis Le Bris’ side for improving the frontman’s fitness. The player now joins in and explains how the Black Cats helped him to grow further.
“When I arrived here, everything was new and I wasn’t fully fit yet. I hadn’t played much at Ajax,” Brobbey explained.
“So, I mainly had to work on my fitness, including substitute appearances and training sessions. I really grew in that area.”
“And I also became more mature on the pitch. You play with experienced players who have been through a lot, like Granit Xhaka and Nordi Mukiele. You just learn from that.”
Contract, value and agent info
