Manchester United defender Tyrell Malacia has revealed Erik ten Hag is “always on it” as he works to get them back into the Champions League.
Ten Hag has been a big hit at Old Trafford since arriving from Ajax in the summer as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s long-term replacement.
After a rocky start in the Premier League, he has quickly adapted, getting Manchester United playing attractive football once again and players like Marcus Rashford shining.
That’s led to a solid campaign so far, with the win over rivals Leeds United at the weekend moving Manchester United into third in to the table and just two points behind Manchester City in second.
More importantly, United are now five points ahead of Newcastle in fourth, and while Eddie Howe’s side do have a game in hand in which they can reduce that gap, there is growing confidence around Old Trafford that they will be finishing in the top four this season.
That would be mission accomplished for Ten Hag, with the Dutchman brought in to get United back into Europe and then competing at the top of the table in the years to come.
That is happening already and Malacia, one of Ten Hag’s summer signings, insists it is down to the work the Manchester United boss does off of the pitch.
“He is very detailed; he pays attention to the small points. Every day developing the team,” Voetbal International report him saying to ViaPlay.
“If we have had a late game and come to the club late, when everyone has gone home, he goes to his to review the game to have an analysis ready for us for next day.
“He is always on it. He loves the game.”
