Montpellier forward Elye Wahi has admitted it is “always flattering” to see his name linked to big clubs amid reports Tottenham have been scouting him.
Wahi has been impressing for the French side this season, with nine goals and two assists in 22 games in Ligue 1 this season.
That has led to plenty of interest in the 20-year-old, with Tottenham brought into the mix at the end of the January transfer window.
According to a report from Foot Mercato, they are one of many clubs interested in the forward and even sent a representative to watch him in person.
Whether that firmed up their interest or not wasn’t made clear at the time, just that Spurs are one of the sides keeping an eye on him this season.
Wahi is more than aware of interest from Tottenham and others, but insists he is not thinking about a departure at this moment in time.
“How do I react to rumours of leaving for a big club? It’s always flattering to be courted by big clubs,” he told Téléfoot, relayed by Made in Paillade.
“But I’m still focused on Montpellier, we have games to play in the second half of the season. try to hold on and we’ll give everything for La Paillade.”
