Last weekend, Eindhovens Dagblad reported Liverpool are one of several sides keen on PSV Eindhoven’s Cody Gakpo.

The winger has been the standout player for the Dutch club this campaign and has managed 16 goals and 15 assists in all competitions. It’s no surprise his impressive displays have caught the attention of clubs across Europe.

Voetbal International journalist Marco Timmer, relayed by PSV Fans, shares more details on the clubs that are looking at the 22-year-old for the next window.

He also provides information of the sides the player has held talks with so far and the Reds fall into this category.

According to Timmer, the Netherlands international has ‘already spoken to clubs such as Liverpool and Manchester City’. In addition to this, Bayern Munich are showing interest in him.

That’s about the only information the journalist shares about Jürgen Klopp’s side and there is nothing to indicate whether Liverpool will make an offer for the attacker in the summer.

Back in January, Gakpo signed a new contract with PSV and his current deal lasts until 2026. Despite this, Timmer states the ‘player will be sold’ and the Eredivisie side are ‘aiming for at least €40m’ to sanction the sale.
