On April 18th, we covered claims from Spain that Manchester City had held talks with RB Leipzig star Dani Olmo’s agent.
Earlier this month, Bild reported the 26-year-old favours a move to England amid interest from Barcelona. It was also said he’s already held talks with former Leipzig teammate Joško Gvardiol about a possible move to Manchester City.
Today’s edition of Mundo Deportivo states the La Liga side will face competition from the Citizens and others to sign Olmo in the summer window.
The winger has a €60m release clause that will expire on July 15th, and his wish is to return to Barca. Their sporting director, Deco, likes his versatility and feels he could do well at the Camp Nou.
It’s claimed the Spain international wants the Catalan club to take the next step, which seems to be difficult, considering their financial situation.
This is a ‘clear disadvantage’ for Barca when compared to Manchester City and Olmo’s other suitors, who are keen on signing him.
Pep Guardiola’s side have ‘already shown interest’ and have ‘started to move’ to sign him. As well as Manchester City, Bayern Munich, Manchester United and Liverpool making efforts to secure his services.
Last month, Bild stated the attacker favours a move to Manchester City over Manchester United and Chelsea.
For years, it feels like most of Europe’s big clubs have been linked with Dani Olmo, but that none of them have so far been keen to actually go through with a deal.
