Antonio Conte replaced Nuno Espirito santo at Tottenham Hotspur at the start of this month and has managed three matches for the north London club so far.

The Italian enjoyed his first league win with Spurs when they came from behind to beat Leeds United 2-1 at home on Sunday.

In the three matches, the former Chelsea manager has seen his current side concede three goals. The 52-year-old is keen on bolstering the Premier League side’s defence and to do that, he ‘wants two reinforcements in January’.

That’s according to Calciomercato, who explain the Tottenham manager ‘has asked’ Fabio Paratici to ‘try to purchase’ two defenders ‘already in January’, rather than waiting until the summer window.

Conte has two ‘dream’ targets for the mid-season window and one is his former player from Inter Milan, Alessandro Bastoni. The other is Juventus star Matthijs de Ligt.

It’s unlikely Paratici would be successful in fulfilling Conte’s ‘dream’ as both Inter and Juve would be unwilling to let their players leave in January.

The Netherlands international is represented by Mino Raiola and the super-agent stressed last week that discussions around De Ligt’s future should be held after the end of this season.
