Philippe Coutinho’s entourage has finally spoken out amid the rumours about his departure from Aston Villa.
That’s a story brought by Brazilian journalist Jorge Nicola, who on YouTube, claims to have spoken to a source from the player’s staff.
“Coutinho doesn’t want to come to Brazil. Aston Villa don’t release him either. And his salary is impractical in Brazil. The chance of business is almost zero,” his source said.
Nicola claims to have made another question regarding Coutinho’s wish to leave Aston Villa to return to Brazil. He was told: “Small talk. There’s nothing about that”.
The rumours about Philippe Coutinho’s return to his home country had a lot to do with the little playing time he had been given at Aston Villa this season.
It was said Corinthians were hopeful they could either sign him on a loan deal or even get him for free in case of a contract rescission.
Unai Emery, however, used the player both on Boxing Day and in the New Year’s Day fixture.
Even though the 30-year-old only entered the pitch for a few minutes in both games, that can also be taken as a sign that he’s still part of the squad, with the manager not willing to make any drastic decisions about his departure from the club.
