Crystal Palace striker Alexander Sørloth has admitted it would be a ‘dream’ to play for Real Madrid, but Trabzonspor will decide his future.

The Palace striker is currently on loan at Turkish side Trabzonspor after struggling for any form since arriving at Selhurst Park from FC Midtjylland in January 2018.

He’s proven to be a massive hit in the Süper Lig, bagging 25 goals in 39 games and sitting at the top of the league’s goalscoring charts with 19 so far.

His form has seemingly not gone unnoticed in Europe, with rumours linking him to some of the biggest clubs, such as Real Madrid and Bayern Munich.

He’s now admitted those rumours are something he’s proud of, although his future is mostly out of his hands.

“To be compared with Lewandowski is an honour,” Liga Blatt report him saying to Norwegian TV.

“I would be lying if I said I didn’t want to play there (Madrid). That’s the dream of every player. But in the end, the decision is up to Trabzonspor.”

Those comments suggest that Sørloth believes that Trabzonspor will be signing him on a permanent deal from Crystal Palace this summer.

The Turkish side have an option to sign him permanently for €6m, a low price given his performances thus far.

Indeed, if the interest in him is genuine, they would be wise to activate to then sell him on for a bigger price, although perhaps Palace have a plan to try and stop that happening.

It would certainly be smart for them to consider their options given the growing interest in the 24-year-old.
