Joshua Zirkzee hasn’t had a great time at Manchester United so far.
He arrived at Old Trafford from Bologna in summer 2024. Despite showing his quality at various points, he hasn’t been a starter.
This season, he’s played only 82 minutes across all competitions. The Dutchman has clearly slipped down the pecking order after the arrivals of Benjamin Šeško and Matheus Cunha.
Zirkzee is now reportedly on an exit from Manchester United in January. Gazzetta dello Sport report the 24-year-old is unhappy at Old Trafford.
The Italian newspaper say the player is ‘aiming to leave in the winter’, as he doesn’t want to miss out on a spot at the World Cup.
Several clubs are interested in the versatile attacker. So far, AS Roma are in pole position but there is also interest from Como.
The newspaper explain that despite Cesc Fabregas’ side not playing in Europe, they’ve got more money than the Giallorossi.
Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini wanted to sign the player at Atalanta when he ended up joining Manchester United. Now, the manager’s likeliest route is a loan deal.
Como, however, would be able to finance a permanent transfer in January.
