Mathys Tel scored for Tottenham against Manchester United at the weekend.

It was the Frenchman’s second goal of the Premier League campaign, as he made a mark off the bench. His performance has now caught the attention of AS Roma.

Corriere della Sera – relayed by Giallorossi.net, report the Tottenham player is one of the options being considered for a January move.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side are desperate for attacking signings in January. Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee and Gianluca Scamacca are also seen as options.

There’s a belief Tel would be interested in leaving Tottenham. This is because of his initial exclusion from their Champions League squad. The 20-year-old would also be interested in playing more regularly.

The report feels like an attempt to just add multiple names to Roma’s potential shortlist.

Tel’s contract at Spurs runs until 2031, and they’re surely not going to give up on each other yet.

Tottenham are facing attacking problems of their own. Randal Kolo Muani and Dominic Solanke are out injured. Richarlison is failing to make a consistent impact.

Tel leaving in January appears to be nonsensical.
