Kadan Young graduated from Aston Villa’s academy and made his senior debut in the EFL Cup win over Wycombe Wanderers in September.

Unai Emery started the 19-year-old in the cup tie and also gave him minutes in the EFL Cup defeat to Crystal Palace a month later. Those were the winger’s two appearances for the first team while he has featured more regularly for Aston Villa U21s this season.

The Villans have decided to send him on loan to Royal Antwerp before the winter market closes later today.

That’s according to Het Laatste Nieuws, who explain the Jupiler Pro League club hope to ‘quickly finalise’ his signing.

On Sunday, the Belgian club secured a 2-1 win over Club Brugge at home and the report states Young was in the attendance for this tie.

Gazet van Antwerpen state Royal Antwerp will strengthen their attack by adding the Aston Villa youngster to their squad on deadline day. They are also reporting it’ll be a loan deal until the end of this season.

Young has already travelled to Belgium and will complete his loan move to Royal Antwerp on Monday.

Journalist Sacha Tavolieri took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to post a picture of Young reportedly in Belgium for yesterday’s clash between Royal Antwerp and Club Brugge.
