Just like the Georges-Kevin N’Koudou deal, the Pau Lopez saga is seemingly coming to an end.
The young goalkeeper, who has been a target for Tottenham over the past month or so, is on the verge of completing a move to London, and Espanyol’s game against Malaga on Friday should be his last.
According to Sport in Spain, Lopez should, if all goes to plan, travel to London on Saturday to pass a medical and complete his paid loan with an option to buy.
The Catalan newspaper reports both clubs reached an agreement days ago, but the La Liga side asked Spurs to delay the transfer a bit to find a replacement.
Pau Lopez will arrive in London on a one year loan for €600k with an option to buy him for €7m at any time throughout.
However, Sport do also state that if the Premier League club do not take up the option to sign the Espanyol goalkeeper permanently, they will have to pay some kind of fine of around €500k.
It seems just a matter of time now, and we should have answers over the weekend.
