With Real Betis this week focusing on their negotiations with English clubs, the Spanish media now brings some updates on their talks with Southampton and Leeds United.
The La Liga side have been working to sign Romain Perraud and Marc Roca, and there have been positive developments in both cases, according to El Chiringuito’s Gonzalo Tortosa.
It’s claimed that Betis have now reached an agreement with Southampton to get the Frenchman for just over €3m, and both the medicals and the contract signature should take place soon.
As for Roca, it’s reported that the La Liga club are ‘close to reaching an agreement’ with Leeds to sign him permanently. Their idea is to have him in a contract until 2028.
Only in case the deal collapses, would they turn to a loan deal.
Some Spanish clubs have been doing their best to guarantee some signings early in the summer, and this seems the case with Betis.
Both Perraud and Roca were loaned out by Southampton and Leeds last season, and it seems Betis’ strategy is to land those players who are not expected to stay at their clubs.
