According to a claim in the Italian media, Chelsea forward Diego Costa has signed a contract with his former club Atletico Madrid.

Throughout the summer window there were numerous reports Costa wanted to rejoin Atletico Madrid, after being told by Chelsea boss Antonio Conte he had no future with the Premier League champions.

TMW report Costa has signed a two year contract with Atletico Madrid ahead of his proposed transfer. It’s now expected the finer details of his move will be dealt with, but it seems the Chelsea outcast will soon become an Atletico Madrid player again.

Costa can’t play for Atletico until the January window, due to their registraion ban, but can go through a training programme with them so he’s ready when the time comes.

TMW often claims exclusives on things like this, and in all honesty it usually feels like they’re taking a punt as a deal looks close to being done. Reports in the Spanish press have suggested a deal is close, hence TMW having to go one better.
