We’ve been keenly reporting on the future of Manchester United star Matteo Darmian over the last few days, weeks… well since Jose Mourinho decided he wasn’t a regular starter.
The Italian international hadn’t made a Premier League appearance this season before Burnley, and doesn’t appear to be a crucial cog in the future plans of Jose Mourinho.
The former Torino midfielder has been linked with a move back to his homeland, with the likes of Inter Milan and Juventus keen on taking advantage of the situation.
Inter, in particular, appear to be favourites to sign Darmian, as we reported yesterday. The Manchester United star has apparently already given the ‘green light’ to the move to Inter.
According to a latest exclusive on Tutto Mercato Web, Juventus are not in the race to sign Darmian, whilst Inter have an ‘agreement in principle’ to sign the Manchester United star.
TMW say Darmian would willingly return to the Serie A, and Inter boss Frank de Boer has made a request to the club to sign him.
Inter are eyeing a move for Darmian in January, and it remains to be seen if things could change between now and then. Injuries at Manchester United could mean Mourinho blocks any move, it’s largely down to him.
