Earlier today, Chilean outlet En Cancha published a story claiming Norwich City were in advanced negotiations for Universidad Catolica midfielder Marcelino Nunez.

The article said the player was one step from moving to the Canaries, as the clubs were close to an agreement worth around €3m.

Well, now it seems that the talks between Norwich City and Universidad Catolica had been developing very fast, because just a few minutes later, En Cancha came back with another story to say there’s an agreed deal for the transfer.

Journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, who often breaks market news in South America, claims Nunez ‘will be sold’ to the Canaries, as ‘the business is closed’ for around €3m.

Once again, it’s pointed out that manager Ariel Holan is ‘upset’ with the deal, because he didn’t want to lose the midfielder.

The story highlights Nunez’s rise at Universidad Catolica, where he became a very important player in their latest triumphs, added to his growth with the Chilean national team, where it’s ‘clear’ he’ll have an important role in the coming years.
