Feyenoord chief Frank Arnesen has confirmed that a deal is in place for defender Tyrell Malacia to join Manchester United.

A report earlier today made it clear Manchester United had made their move for the left-back, trumping Lyon, who had been confident of getting him.

Voetbal International reported that Manchester United had come to an agreement with Feyenoord last night over Malacia, who was now ‘likely’ to make the move to Old Trafford rather than Lyon.

The report made clear it was still up to the player to decide his next destination, but given the relative size of both clubs, there was confidence he would choose Manchester United.

Arnesen has now confirmed there is an agreement in place, but the clubs are now waiting for the player to make his final decision.

“The agreement is there. We are now waiting for Tyrell. If he says yes, then a transfer to Manchester United is imminent,” he told 1908.

It now remains to be seen where Malacia chooses to go, although we would be surprised if he turns down the offer from Manchester United.

Even after their recent disappointment, they’re a far more attractive prospect than Lyon and can comfortably outbid the French side when it comes to wages and whatever else as well.

He could surprise, of course, but expect more details on his potential move to Manchester to be arriving posthaste.
