Agents are working to shape a deal for Marseille defender Duje Caleta-Car, to take him to West Ham before the end of this window.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who say the French side are desperate to sell and work out a deal that suits them.

The newspaper explains that Marseille chief Frank McCourt has set a sales target of €30m for the winter transfer window, and selling Caleta-Car is part of that.

A ‘pair of agents’ close to the Marseille president are ‘trying to shape a bid’ from West Ham but want the ‘highest possible’ price from the Hammers.

Discussions between the two clubs are ongoing, but Marseille are clearly hopeful of a sale as they are already lining up several replacements for the Croatian should he move to the London Stadium.

There’s no mention of an asking price at this moment in time or what West Ham are willing to pay, just that negotiations are ongoing over a potential deal.

An agreement is there to be found given Marseille’s desire to raise funds this month, so this is one that could be done before the end of the window.
