There’s some optimism in Brazil that Chelsea will soon complete the signing of Matheus França from Flamengo.
A report from journalist Jorge Nicola now claims the player is ‘closer’ to leaving Rio de Janeiro for London.
It’s said Chelsea already offered R$122m (£19.75m), while Flamengo demand R$130m (£21m), so there’s a strong belief a deal can get done.
It’s even claimed that the player’s agents believe the transfer will be concluded in the coming days.
The talks are said to be ‘so advanced’ that Chelsea have already decided what to do with França once they sign him. The Blues reportedly plan to loan him out to Strasbourg at first.
That’s why the deal is believed to be very similar to the one of Angelo, for whom Chelsea are spending €15m.
Reports say the Santos youngster is travelling to England this Wednesday, and will also be loaned to the French club for one season.
As for França, it now seems a matter of time until the Blues’ offer is accepted. It’s been said it’s agent Giuliano Bertolucci who represents the Stamford Bridge side in the negotiations.
