Long announced by his agent to be leaving Manchester City in the summer due to him not wanting to play under Pep Guardiola again, Yaya Touré seems likely to land at Inter Milan.
His relationship with Roberto Mancini, the Serie A club’s current manager, is a clear plus, and the Italian’s admiration for the Ivorian’s skills makes the two reuniting seem like a match made in heaven.
Inter Milan have only recently changed owners, with a Chinese consortium buying a large chunk of the club, and Dimitri Seluk, Yaya’s agent, doesn’t want to make any claims until he’s heard from them.
Speaking to Corriere dello Sport, he said: “Everyone knows the relationship the two have. I know Inter has only just changed owners and when something like that happens, there needs to be a few days for things to get sorted.
“I haven’t received a call from Milan. We’ll see in the next few days if anything changes.”
As for Yaya Touré himself, the player is currently on holiday, described by his agent as ‘calm’ about his future, waiting and relaxing.
The Manchester City midfielder has a year left on his current contract with the Premier League club, but considering his age and his will to leave, it seems unlikely City will ask for astronomical fees for him to leave.
As his agent says, let’s wait a few days and we’ll see.
