Arsenal midfielder Sambi Lokonga’s agent has questioned Belgium for failing to give his client any playing time during the international break.

Lokonga has been a regular for Arsenal this season after joining from Anderlecht in the summer, earning plenty of praise for his performances in the middle of the park.

That did not go unnoticed by the Belgium set-up, who called him up to the squad for their two games during this international break.

With a squad full of talent, Lokonga will have known he was unlikely to see much action, although injuries to Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet should have given the Arsenal man a greater chance of an appearance.

It didn’t prove to be the case, though, with Lokonga sitting on the bench for the 3-1 win over Estonia and the 1-1 draw with Wales.

It means his only appearance for his country so far is a 16-minute cameo against Estonia back in September, and the Arsenal man’s agent isn’t very impressed about all this, ironising on Twitter;

“10 matches with the number 5 in the Premier League: 0 minutes in the last two matches of the Belgian national team. What a wealth we have.”
