Earlier on Tuesday, Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Nottingham Forest’s revitalised interest in Juventus’ Douglas Luiz, and it’s now reported Edu Gaspar is leading the fresh charge after trying to sign the Brazilian for Arsenal on multiple occasions.
Turin newspaper TuttoSport report Douglas Luiz has rejected a chance to join Fulham and Leeds United. Everton made a call for him last week but Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have strongly moved into the mix.
They have been pursuing the midfielder since January and since a deal with Manchester United, which the player was keen on, has not taken off, a transfer to Nottingham Forest can gain traction.
The 26-year-old’s agent Kia Joorabchian will fly to England in the next few days to explore the idea of a move back to the Premier League.
New Nottingham Forest sporting director Edu Gaspar can hold the key, as he tried to sign the Brazil international multiple times at Arsenal. His attempts failed but Edu still has a lot of admiration for the player.
The newspaper claim that now there’s a good chance of a move going through, with the Bianconeri happy to accept an initial loan with the obligation to buy under certain conditions.
