Aston Villa are unlikely to retain Nicolò Zaniolo, after signing him on loan from Galatasaray last summer.

Recent claims from Italy have talked about interest from Fiorentina, Juventus, Napoli, AC Milan and Lazio.

TuttoMercatoWeb had a chat with Italian agent Giocondo Martorelli to discuss Lazio, who parted ways with Maurizio Sarri earlier this week.

After talking about the Biancocelesti’s managerial situation, the market operator was told about the reports of Lazio having interest in the Aston Villa man.

When responding to that, Martorelli insisted the 24-year-old needs to find a club where he can enjoy regular game time.

“I hope for the boy above all that he can find consecration. In recent years he has not had the chance to play with continuity. He is a talented player who needs to play and prove his worth,” he said.

The Italy international has clocked in less than 1000 minutes from 30 games this season at Aston Villa, which includes 129 minutes from the last 10 games. He’s expected to return to the Turkish club in the summer and could also miss out on the Euros.

The Aston Villa player was at Roma between 2018 and 2023. Taking his spell with them into account, TMW asked the agent how he would view Zaniolo’s possible move to Lazio.

“It would be a difficult situation on an environmental level. He comes from a team with which there is a very important rivalry. He should arrive and prove himself immediately,” Martorelli explained.
