Earlier this week, Milliyet reported Galatasaray leaders had not been approached by Newcastle United over a deal for Nicolò Zaniolo.
Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk then tried to downplay reports linking the winger to the Magpies by stating that his absence against Žalgiris Kaunas was due to an injury.
That hasn’t stopped the rumours as Hürriyet cover Newcastle’s interest in the 24-year-old when explaining the latest situation at the Turkish club.
They have added several new faces to their squad while raising less than €6m through sales. In order to improve their finances, the report states Galatasaray are ready to sell the Italy international, with Eddie Howe’s side, Juventus and AC Milan said to be keen.
It’s claimed his agent is ‘in talks’ with the two Serie A sides, an unnamed Saudi Arabian club and two English teams, including Newcastle.
Last month, Galatasaray rejected Juventus’ offer of €20m plus Weston McKennie and they haven’t returned with an improved offer yet.
Zaniolo has a €35m release clause but Hürriyet claim the Istanbul club are ‘willing to sell’ him for €30m excluding bonuses. Roma will receive 10% of any fee from his sale.
Since joining Galatasaray in January, the Italian has managed five goals and an assist from 12 games.
