According to a claim in the Turkish media, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have stepped up their pursuit to sign Galatasaray attacker Barış Alper Yılmaz.

The two north London clubs have been linked with the 24-year-old in recent weeks after impressing in Euro 2024. There were reports that scouts from both clubs had been attending some of Turkey’s games in Germany to watch him.

Sabah report Yılmaz’s agent is set to hold talks with Arsenal and Tottenham. However, any club interested in signing the player this summer will first to have to meet Galatasaray’s valuation of the right winger. Sabah report the Turkish champions will only listen to offers starting at €30m.

Sabah say both the Gunners and Spurs would face Premier League competition from Manchester United, Brighton & Hove Albion, Aston Villa and Liverpool.

There were reports a few days ago Liverpool had submitted an offer of €30m and were looking to start talks. The Turkish media assembly somewhat overexcited by this situation and are likely hyping it beyond the current reality.

Yılmaz started 28 Super Lig games last season, scoring seven goals. He’s contracted to Galatasaray until June 2027.
