The potential shown by Carlos Alcarez at Racing is the reason why many European sides, including Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur, have been linked to him lately.
The 19-year-old has just won the Trofeo de Campeones at the weekend, and when speaking to the local media about the achievement, he even teased with a future move to Europe.
We’ve seen outlet Doble Amarilla reporting that Wolves and Tottenham are two of the clubs who want him, and as Serie A clubs join that race, his agent has spoken to the Italian media as well.
Sebastian Lopez was interviewed by FC Inter News, and made very clear that many European sides have been watching the Alcarez’s potential in Argentina.
“Absolutely, he is a footballer with a guaranteed future: he’s liked in the Bundesliga and Premier League. But also in Portugal and Italy,” Lopez told FC Inter News.
Regarding the youngster’s price, the agent revealed that besides not being a lot, Racing could even accept to negotiate those numbers if interested clubs like Wolves and Tottenham were to come forward.
“Several offers came in the last market, but none of them were accepted. The valuation is €15m, which perhaps could be discounted to €12m. Or a little less, but with the percentage on future resale.”
The interest from Wolves and Tottenham in the player have been reported since May, and as he continues to develop well at Racing, that’s undoubtedly a reason to believe they could go for his signing in the coming months, especially if the price is negotiable.
