With Nikola Vlasic now sold by West Ham United to Torino, the player is apparently quite glad about the move.
Following the transfer’s confirmation, the midfielder’s agent Tonci Martic had a word with Sport Italia about the switch.
The representative says Vlasic always wanted the deal to go through, claiming his wish was very important for West Ham to agree the deal.
“Nikola and I are delighted that an agreement has been reached and that we will stay at Torino,” Tonci Martic told Sport Italia.
“Fortunately, finally a happy ending has arrived, Aand the will of the player was certainly very important. Even more, however, was the will of the club and the effort he made to keep him. Vlasic is also happy to continue working with coach Juric, who wanted him to stay from the start.”
Vlasic had already been loaned to Torino in the past season, making 37 appearances for the club, and that was more than enough for them to try a deal with West Ham for a permanent move.
The negotiations dragged a little during the summer, and this week, the clubs finally found a deal, with the Serie A side spending €12.8m on the signing.
Having joined West Ham on a €30m deal from CSKA Moscow in 2021, the player ended up only having one season for the club, with 31 appearances made and no new chances to prove himself.
He now signed a contract with Torino until 2027, with an option for an extra year.
