Turkish football agent Omer Uzun has spoken to Fotomac with regards to the future of Besiktas midfielder Mohamed Elneny, who’s currently on loan from Arsenal.

The Egyptian winger has been a wonderful signing for Besiktas and there were reports in the Turkish press in the past which stated the Black Eagles would like to keep him in the squad for another season.

Speaking about Elneny, Uzun said he knows Besiktas’ manager and the club board are looking to keep him in the team for next year, and added that another year of loan deal could be a possibility: “Both Besiktas manager Sergen Yalcin and club’s board are very happy with him. He’s a very quality player and Besiktas would like to keep him in their squad for next season. I think they are working on extending his loan contract.”

Earlier this week there reports in the Turkish press that Besiktas want to keep hold of the Arsenal owned player and that their manager Sergen Yalcin was keen to have him in his team for next season.

Elneny has been key since arriving from the Gunners on a loan deal last summer and the midfielder has also expressed a desire to remain in Istanbul.

The 27 year old has made 28 appearances in all competitions for Besiktas this season, and provided two assists.

His contract at the Emirates will expire at the end of June 2022.
