As things stand, Ezgjan Alioski is the first choice left-back at Leeds United as he has made 31 appearances in the league this season.

However, the 29-year-old’s future remains uncertain due to both his contract expiring on June 30th and interest garnered from elsewhere.

Alioski’s situation has seen the Whites look for a new left-back in the summer and various claims have indicated they have set their sights on Ajax’s Nicolás Tagliafico.

Earlier this month, we relayed news from the Dutch press that Marcelo Bielsa’s side have a ‘concrete interest’ in the Argentina international.

Inter Milan are also linked with the defender, who has expressed his desire to make a switch to the Serie A in the future.

FcInterNews are of the belief Tagliafico has ‘winked’ at Antonio Conte’s side and to see if there’s any possibility of his arrival to the San Siro, they interviewed Tagliafico’s agent Ricardo Schlieper.

“Inter clearly remain a big club in the world. But Nico only answered a direct question. Who wouldn’t like to wear a shirt as important as the Nerazzurri one? Everyone would like it. However, the same sentence applies to any important club,” Schlieper said.

“There is nothing concrete with Inter, in fact there is nothing with the Nerazzurri precisely because our partner in Italy, with whom I am in constant contact, has not talked to me about anything new.”

“I’ll make a general speech: it’s still early, so many aspects will have to be analysed, let’s wait and see what happens.”

Reports during the 2020 summer transfer window stated Tagliafico wanted to leave Ajax.

His representative has now revealed there exists an agreement with the Eredivisie side for his client to change clubs in the summer if conditions are met for transfer.

“This yes. He could have left last year, but then the whole European transfer market changed due to the pandemic,” the agent explained.

“We agreed with the Dutch club that if a suitable offer arrives, which we have already agreed with i Lancieri [Ajax’s nickname], Nicolas would be free to leave.”

Schlieper doesn’t specify what figures would make the offer ‘suitable’, but his comments should give Leeds encouragement, if they have a concrete plan to sign Tagliafico in the next market.
