Lazio have conceded only 23 goals in 26 league games this season.

Francesco Acerbi has been a fundamental figure in the Serie A side’s fine defensive displays and it’s been claimed the centre-back’s form has caught attention from others.

On March 19th, we covered claims from FcInterNews that the 32-year-old’s agent, Federico Pastorello is ‘already’ talking about a transfer with Chelsea and Inter Milan.

La Lazio Siamo Noi now claims sources from the defender’s entourage have made it clear there isn’t anything concrete and they have not received any offers for the player.

The website has also gathered comments from Pastorello, who states it won’t be surprising if top clubs knock on Lazio’s door to ‘grab’ his client.

“Chelsea and Inter? I have read it, but I don’t know much about it. Certainly, Francesco is a defender who can play for any team in Europe,” Pastorello said.

Given the player’s age, this has felt like an effort to nudge Lazio into renewal talks, and there’s nothing new today to change that.
