We’ve nearly gone through an entire week without the agent of Chelsea midfielder Joginho speaking to the Italian press regarding the player’s future, but on Friday afternoon, the inevitable happened again.

Representative João Santos has now been interviewed by Radio Kiss Kiss, and was obviously quizzed about the 29-year-old’s potential return to the Serie A.

At first, his quotes sounded like he and his client are fully committed to Chelsea.

“His goal is to honour his contract with Chelsea: to stay in London at least until the end of the contract”, João Santos told Radio Kiss Kiss.

Still, the agent couldn’t avoid teasing with Jorginho’s return to his former club.

“If they do not renew his contract, he would be happy to return to Italy, perhaps to Napoli.”

Even when speaking of the national team, João Santos made a reference to the Italian side where Jorginho used to play.

“First the Champions League, now Italy: he’s earned all this. Mancini’s Italy reminds me of Sarri’s Napoli.”

It’s CalcioMercato.it who feature the quotes, and the outlet then adds that the possibility of a Napoli move should now ‘not be excluded’, even though the transfer wouldn’t happen anytime soon.

Jorginho’s current contract with Chelsea expires in 2023, so the Blues are well protected before they can even think of losing the player for free.
