The agent of Leeds United attacker Pawel Cibicki has told the Polish media he hasn’t been in talks with Legia Warsaw with regards to a summer move for his client.
Yesterday there were reports the Leeds United player could join Legia Warsaw after being seen at their game on Wednesday night.
Speaking to Przeglad Sportowy, Filip Lesniewski was asked if Cibicki would be heading to Poland in the next transfer window: “Pawel is on vacation. Someone even accosted us at the stadium and asked us what we were doing here, but we did not talk to Legia.”
Lesniewski’s comments were also backed up by Cibicki, who also confirmed he was just on holiday: “We’ve finished the season. I came to Poland for a few days to visit my family. My agent is also here and we watched the game.”
Yesterday we covered reports from Poland that Legia Warsaw are interested in signing the Leeds United outcast and that the Championship side would be open to selling the 24 year old to them.
The Swede only signed for Leeds United from Malmo last summer, but he’s struggled to get games in his debut season in England.
It seems likely Cibicki will have to move on in the next transfer window to kickstart his career as his chances at Leeds United next season don’t look good.
The trip just being a holiday is also confirmed by Polish newspaper Fakt. Despite the denials, it’s reasonable to think there may be something going on, especially given Cibicki’s situation in England.
