Diego Carlos arrived at Aston Villa from Sevilla last summer and finished his debut season with only three appearances.

The defender suffered a serious injury last August, forcing him to spend the majority of the season on the sidelines. He regained full fitness in March and made only one substitute appearance since then.

The 30-year-old has a deal lasting until 2026 but could leave Villa Park this summer. That’s according to InterLive.it, who state the Aston Villa player’s agent has offered him to Inter Milan.

The report says the Brazilian’s current asking price is around €15-20m and this would ‘hardly convince’ the Serie A side to buy him, especially after he recovered from a serious knee injury earlier this year.

This is a surprising claim from InterLive.it, considering there hasn’t been any concrete claims elsewhere so far of the South American wanting to leave Unai Emery’s side this summer.

Aston Villa reportedly invested £26m to bring the defender and offered him a deal until 2026. It may not make sense for them to part ways with him just a year after they signed him
