Aston Villa’s Diego Carlos has made 34 appearances in all competitions under Unai Emery this season.
The centre-back has been a ‘protagonist’ at Villa Park and his agent could take advantage of his excellent form to get him a move away from the Villans in the summer window.
That’s at least what InterLive.it are reporting and add that his representative could offer the Aston Villa defender to several European clubs.
Among these, the agent could offer his client to Inter Milan and AC Milan, as these two clubs are in the market for a new centre-back.
The Brazilian turned 31 years of age last month and his current deal lasts until 2026.
It’s claimed the Premier League side value him around €20-25m, which the Serie A duo don’t seem to be willing to offer. Therefore, it’s ‘very complicated’ for Inter or Milan to sign the former Sevilla man.
That estimated fee is optimistic on behalf of the Italian clubs, so if they can’t meet that it’s unlikely they’d pay what is actually needed.
Although the website says Carlos has been a protagonist at Aston Villa, Emery has handed him seven league starts from 15 games in this calendar year. It’s possible that he may not be happy with this and is looking for a new club in the next window.
The claims over the past week would suggest someone is testing the transfer waters.
