Despite being bought back from Juventus and announced as likely to be part of Zinedine Zidane’s preseason squad, Alvaro Morata looks very likely to be on the move again.
It all started on Wednesday when Marca claimed Chelsea and Antonio Conte were closing in on the signing of the Spanish striker; a player originally bought to Juventus by the Italian manager, days before he resigned.
Then, Sport took things a little bit further on Thursday by publishing an article claiming the Premier League club had actually made a €75m offer for Morata, which equates to around £64m.
Just in case you’re sat there thinking this will never happen, Marca on Friday report the player’s agent, Juanma Lopez, travelled to the Santiago Bernabeu to discuss his client’s future.
The Spanish newspaper suggest that, despite the official statement saying Morata would stay at Real Madrid, Chelsea’s strong interest (and apparent bid) could force a change of plans.
The Stamford Bridge contingent aren’t the only Premier League clubs after him, though, as Marca push Arsenal’s and Manchester United’s interest as strong, with all three clubs capable of meeting the £64m demand if they wanted to.
Things appear to be moving in this transfer, and we expect a further update soon.
